Meet your legislators, state bills impacting APRNs and health care

Additional Information

Do you want to meet and influence the legislators who make decisions about your practice? Understand the legislative process better? Know who your legislators are? Do you have ideas for community health initiatives?

ANPA has a wonderful opportunity for YOU!  April 3 and 4 (Tuesday and Wednesday) is the Juneau Fly-In. This is a chance for nurse practitioners and our fellow APRNs to meet with your legislator as well as other Alaskan legislators. When meeting with your legislator, you will have the opportunity to educate them about Nurse Practitioners and our practice, our ability to provide quality care in a diverse and rural state and what is working well professionally for you and your practice as well as what challenges you face. You can share ideas you have to improve the health of your community and let them know how they can help. There are several bills being proposed that could influence our practice in the state, so this is the chance for you to learn, build bridges, get connected and share ideas.

Each attendee will be guiding and introduced by our lobbyist Jeff Logan to meet and greet with your local and state legislators.

If you are interested, email Emily Garhart, President of ANPA, at presidentelectanpa@gmail.com, before March 23, 2018. ANPA is going to pay for the flight to and from Juneau and 1 hotel night, (double occupancy) for the first 4 active members of ANPA or other Alaska APRN organization (2 people per day) to sign up!

Not yet an ANPA member? Come join us on our website and become one!

So come, fly in and help educate our legislators regarding Nurse Practitioners and our practice!
