Overview
The purpose of this learning activity is to explore the burden of major depressive disorder and examine the importance of recognizing the physical, emotional and cognitive domains of depression in the primary care setting. Through discussion and a case study interwoven through the presentation, the speakers will explore strategies to help nurse practitioners align screening and assessment practices with evidence-based guideline recommendations and individualize treatment plans through shared decision-making communication techniques in collaboration with patients.
