The annual conference of the Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association is a three day meeting in the states largest city of Anchorage. This year's 2014 conference will be held on Thursday September 18th, Friday September 19th, and Saturday September 20th, 2014 at the downtown Anchorage Marriott Hotel. Both workshops and didactic presentations are offered from a variety of clinical experts. Speakers include physicians, nurse practitioners, pharmacists and other health care professionals. A variety of local and national speakers include specialists in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Pediatrics, Radiology, Gastroenterology, Pain Management, Neurology, and Psychiatry to name a few of the disciplines represented. Multiple professional tracts are offered including, Primary Care, Women's Health, Mental Health, and Pharmacology. The program is fully accredited by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners to provide continuing education credit for Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses in attendance. Physicians, Pharmacists, Physician's Assistants, and other Allied Health Professionals and Students are expected to attend.

 On-line registration is closed but you can still register at the conference for an additional $25.00 per day. These fees are listed below:

Onsite Registration fees after 9/14 per day:

  • ANPA Member Onsite After 9/14: $205.00
  • Non-Member Onsite after 9/14: $240.00
  • Retired / NP Student Onsight after 9/14: $125.00

Conference Objectives

  1. Review pathophysiology, physical assessment findings, diagnostic tests, and treatment issues related to health conditions across the life span.
  2. Strengthen critical thinking skills related to diseases, diagnosis and treatments of multiple health conditions.
  3. Discuss professional, legislative and practice issues pertinent to nurse practitioners in Alaska and nationally.
  4. Update knowledge of clinical pharmacology in treatment across the spectrum of illness and across the life span.
  5. Enhance technical proficiency in clinical procedures utilized by nurse practitioners in primary care.
  6. Network with colleagues from Alaska and the United States.
