Nurse Practitioner / Physician’s Assistant, Multidisciplinary Team of Addiction Professionals


JOB SUMMARY:

Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services is looking for an experienced, licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant, to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. The position works within a CARF-accredited Integrative Behavioral Health / Primary Care treatment agency.  The candidate must possess a requisite waiver that governs the prescription of buprenorphine to treat addiction and provide ongoing medical assessments and diagnosis of acute and chronic illness, prescribes and manages individualized medication in coordination with clinical treatment planning, attends regularly scheduled multidisciplinary staffing meetings which promotes addiction recovery, disease prevention and health management.

 

The ideal candidate for this position has:

  • The acumen to develop a medical service delivery model that is inclusive of harm reduction principles and that reinforces life-long recovery and individualized healthcare goals.
  • The ability to conduct effective medical assessments and diagnosis of acute and chronic illness and behavioral health disorders
  • Proven previous experience in psychiatric clinical outpatient setting, providing MAT to individuals with an opioid or alcohol use disorder
  • The confidence to advocate for integrated therapeutic treatment services
  • Demonstrates actions consistent with service excellence and patient engagement.
  • Competence in organizational and documentation skills
  • Requisite DEA license and Alaska license that governs the prescription of buprenorphine
  • Eligible to work with patient populations associated with this position
  • Personal maturity and capacity to perform as effective team member
  • The skills to attend and contribute in regular treatment team meetings.
  • The willingness to stay on the leading edge of addiction medicine
  • The desire for learning and continuous professional development
  • A willingness to work in a collegial, team-oriented, multi-disciplinary environment
