Position Description

The Ketamine Wellness Institute was established in 2017 as the first ketamine infusion clinic in Chapel Hill, NC.  Since our initial opening, we have successfully treated thousands of patients suffering from mental health and/or chronic pain disorders, making us one of the most experienced ketamine providers in the country.  Given the remarkable benefits of ketamine treatment and the need for access to this highly effective treatment, we recently opened a second clinic in Anchorage, AK to meet the needs of our Alaskan community.

We are looking for a Nurse Practitioner (Ideally PMHNP) to help grow/operate the Anchorage clinic, in coordination with our board certified physician Anesthesiologist/Psychiatrist.  This would be a part time position initially (10-15 hrs/wk), and would ramp up quickly with increasing patient volume.  The ideal candidate would have great IV skills (or willingness to learn), a calm and empathetic demeanor and a desire to work closely with patients suffering from mental health and chronic pain disorders.

This position is quite FLEXIBLE in terms of WORKING HOURS.  You can schedule treatments according to your availability, including after normal business hours (in case you work another job) and/or on weekends.  That being said, we are looking for someone who is committed for the long run.  We are not interested in a locums/per diem provider, but rather someone who is committed to the practice and it’s patients.  We envision this to eventually become a full time position with excellent compensation potential.

  • establish IV access in patients
  • reconstitute ketamine infusions IV bags
  • obtain and record vital signs before, during and after each treatment
  • Become proficient in our chosen EMR and complete all required patient documentation
  • work closely with patient care coordinator to schedule new and returning patients.
  • work closely with supervising physician to optimize patient care

  • proficiency in IV placement, including difficult IVs (or willingness to learn)
  • calm, caring and friendly demeanor with patients
  • compassion and empathy
  • desire to work independently of supervising physician, but in coordination
  • ACLS/BLS certification
  • Full medical malpractice coverage
  • full professional licensure and credentialing to practice in AK
  • no specific experience in required, and new graduates are welcome to apply

  • earn up to $100 per hour
  • no benefits for part time, but willing to discuss benefits for eventual full time  employment
