Position Description

Anchorage Sleep Center is seeking a Sleep Medicine Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant. We are a full-service sleep disorders center dedicated to serving the community with unparalleled patient care with locations in Anchorage, Wasilla, Fairbanks, Juneau and Soldotna. Our staff is devoted to providing knowledge, caring, and understanding to all of our patients.

Description:

  • Provides patient care in outpatient clinic setting.
  • Performs assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sleep disorders and preventative care in adults and pediatric patients.
  • Coordinates management of chronic health problems including diabetes, hypertension, cardiac conditions, chronic lung disease, etc.
  • Orders and/or schedules laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures. Communicates necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to patients.
  • Educates patients on health habits, behavior management, need for follow-up assessments and treatments, at home medical care, medication and other issues related to medical or health problems.
  • Arranges for consultations with or referrals to other medical professional or community services.
  • Participates in professional development activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Provides guidance to assigned professional and support staff.
  • Collaborates with other team members to share and establish best practice for clinic.
  • Completes patient and related documentation in accordance company standards and protocols and in compliance with policies.
  • Ensures timely and effective follow-up to coordinate care on behalf of patients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Licensed in Alaska as a Board-Certified Physician’s Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Two years’ experience in Sleep Medicine settings required
  • BCLS certification
  • Current DEA certification
  • Active Alaska license required prior to beginning employment.

Work Schedule

  • Flexible schedule 8-hour or 10-hour shifts Monday – Saturday.

Compensation

  • DOE
