Position Description

Are you looking for a slower-paced environment where you can truly get to know your patients? Are you sick of the increasingly corporate feel of so many healthcare practices, where patient care concerns seem a distant second to the bottom line? If so, this might be the opportunity you’re looking for!

Geneva Woods Midwifery/Women’s Wellness at the Nest is seeking an experienced* FNP to provide care to teens and adults here in our clinic, with the majority of clients being women. An ideal arrangement would be starting part-time, morphing to full-time if desired, and if supported by the number of clients. *We are also willing to consider a new grad who is passionate about the kinds of care that our office provides, and eager to learn inside and out of the office.

We are:


-- A collaborative, multi-disciplinary practice serving predominantly women, in the areas of GYN, postpartum, [currently limited] primary care, lactation support, physical therapy, mental health, and nutrition counseling.
  --  A team of CNM/ANPs, highly-specialized pelvic floor PTs, an IBCLC, an RD, and an LPC, providing holistic, wrap-around care to a mostly female client base of all ages from puberty through menopause, including immediate postpartum patients as well.
  --  Seeking to extend our model of whole-person-centered care to men, and to expand the scope of our lactation support practice by adding an FNP to our team.
  --  Locally-owned, and the exact opposite of a “volume model.” Our annual exams are 60 minutes long, entirely with the provider, which allows plenty of time to provide excellent, thorough care.
 --   A group that adheres to national screening guidelines and evidence-based practice, while still allowing for the high degree of provider discretion needed to provide truly individualized care. This translates to a practice deeply rooted in “lifestyle medicine” that also makes use of all treatments backed by strong evidence, be they pharmaceutical, supplements, herbs, surgery, lifestyle interventions, or physical therapies such as PT. We consider the ‘pocketbook’ to also be a facet of the whole person that needs to be considered in ‘whole person care,’ recommending only lab tests and treatments that are backed by solid evidence, approaching the informed consent process in the thorough and serious manner that it deserves.

Our ideal team member would be:


-- Motivated to learn and gain new skills, in areas such as menopause, women’s reproductive and sexual health, and lactation, and take advantage of mentorship and learning opportunities when they present themselves.
--  Interested in collaborating and sharing knowledge with other provider types within the office for the benefit of mutual patients.
 -- Flexible enough to organically grow a patient following over time, which likely entails beginning part-time.
-- Self-sufficient in clinic, frequently performing procedures normally tasked to nurses or MA’s such as injections, venipuncture, and vitals in the course of visits with patients, recognizing these as the opportunities for further relationship-building with patients that they are.
  -- Motivated to help grow their patient base by assisting with marketing efforts when possible.

Benefits and  Compensation (based on part-time) include:
   -- Hourly compensation from $70/hr to higher, dependent on experience.
   -- 401k with fully-vested 4% match available for those working more than 20 hours per week, per IRS rules
   -- PTO per negotiations
   -- Annual discretionary CME budget, with additional sponsored opportunities for education and training directly related to job duties
  -- Costs associated with licensure renewal and malpractice borne by employer
