Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association

Alaska Kidney Screening Event

Posted about 8 years ago by Shannon Hilton

The Alaska Kidney Patients Association will be having a free kidney health screening for individuals at risk of kidney disease, those with diabetes or high blood pressure, on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at the Anchorage Senior Center.

I need Clinical Consultant volunteers to review participant's results with them from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. There will be a knowledgeable kidney professional at the screening if you have any questions. You will be provided with the information you need to speak with the participants and providing general information only – there will be no onsite diagnosis done – only referrals if the participant results are outside normal range. A clinical consultant can be a M.D., P.A., or N.P.
Coffee and snacks will be provided

If you know someone who might be interested, would you please forward. If you are interested in volunteering, please send me an email with your name and phone number. kristie@alaskakidney.org

FYI:  The Kidney Health Screening is a two appointment screening and includes a personal kidney health risk assessment (intake questionnaire, height, waist circumference, and blood pressure measurements, kidney disease risk factor survey, etc); specific renal lab tests (these urine and blood lab test are done free prior to the screening at a local lab) and a one on one consultation with a physician or advanced practitioner to discuss lab results and answer questions
