International charitable donation opportunity

Posted over 7 years ago by Jon Manwaring

During the conference breaks we would like to encourage you to visit the Days For Girls international booth in the exhibitor hall.

This is a nonprofit organization that provides reusable sanitary supplies and health education to girls in underdeveloped countries.

Without sanitary supplies many girls in these countries must drop out of school and spend days in isolation often using corn husks, cow dung, banana leaves, or anything else they can find to manage their menstruation. Often times they lack basic health education and as a result when they begin menstruating are faced with fear and anxiety, unaware that this is a normal process.

By providing these girls with reusable sanitary supplies and health education school absence rates have dropped significantly, thus allowing them to receive an education and help to break the cycle of poverty.

Please consider donating to their cause. They need Ziploc freezer bags, cotton washcloths, and girls simple brief style plain underwear without logos (sizes 10, 12, 14, and 16).

They are also happy to take tax deductible monetary donations if you would prefer.

Please see the handout in your conference packet for specifics.

Sincerely,

Conference Planning Committee
