Why have a Palliative Care Advance Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship?
- Improve access to Palliative Care for Alaskans through dedicated training
- Promote certification in Hospice/Palliative care for APRNs and nurses through Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center
- Endorse commitment to Palliative Care
Who is funding and coordinating the Palliative Care Interprofessinal fellowship?
- Proudly funded through Providence Alaska Foundation with community donor support
- Coordinated by Providence Alaska Medical Group Palliative Care team in collaboration with Spiritual Care Department
- Guided by an integrated palliative care curriculum for an APP, a MD/DO fellow and clinical pastoral education resident
What is this APP Fellowship?
- Structured 1 year (full time) clinical and educational fellowship for an APP to learn the necessary skills for specialty practice in Palliative Care and/or Hospice
- Develop educational, research, and leadership scholarly skills to nurture local and national Palliative care growth
- Stipend and benefits provided
Where will clinical experience take place?
- Providence Medical Group Palliative Care Inpatient and Outpatient Service at PAMC
- Providence Hospice, Anchorage
- Electives, local and out-of-state, are possible to enhance learning experience
When will the fellowshiop begin?
- August 2018
