Alaska Nurse Practitioner Association

AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions

Posted 12 months ago

Dear Colleagues,

It is once again time to nominate a nurse practitioner for the AANP State Award for Outstanding Contributions. Nominators must be a member of AANP. The award nominee does NOT have to be a member but will receive a free year of AANP membership if they win the award. Please feel free to nominate a special NP for this award at the AANP link in the message below!

Congratulations to Marianne Johnstone Petty, the 2024 award recipient. Marianne  has provided a leadership role in advancing the role of nurse practitioners at the state and federal levels. Her service is greatly appreciated.

Shannon Hilton received the 2024 AANP State Advocate Award for her service to AANP and our state. We appreciate her years of service!

AANP will no longer sponsor the Advocate Award. The award committee feels it is an award the state NP groups should provide. The attendance at the national meeting for this award was minimal and would likely mean more coming from the state organization. I believe that is true.

If you have questions about AANP or the awards, please feel free to contact me.

Respectfully,

Lisa M Jackson, DNP, FNP
