Support PKD Research

Posted about 9 years ago by Rachael Carlson

Hello everyone! I just wanted to let you know that I am running the New York City Marathon in November to help raise funds for the Polycystic Kidney Disease Foundation. Working in nephrology, this is a disease I see frequently. These individuals have an autosomal dominant condition causing unregulated cyst growth on their kidneys. In many, this leads to kidney failure and the need for dialysis or kidney transplant. Currently, there is no treatment or cure to stop these cysts and loss of kidney function. Over the next few months, I'll be training hard to get in shape and I would appreciate any emotional support you can give. Also, I would also appreciate any donations that can be made to the PKD Foundation to help support awareness and research.

If you can donate, please go to this link: https://www.crowdrise.com/pkdnyc2015/fundraiser/rachaelcarlson

Thanks for your time and I hope to see you all at the next meeting or the upcoming conference. Have a great summer!

Sincerely,

Rachael Carlson
